Welcome

What better way to share my crazy experiences as life as a Canadian living in Las Vegas on a F-1 student visa.

Is life really different living in the United States versus Canada? Come join my journey to find out.

A little bit about me -
I am 29 years old from Edmonton, Alberta. If you're from the US and wondering where that is, it's almost directly straight up from Las Vegas. It's above the state of Montana.

I actually lived in the United States for over three years when I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Utah. I was there from 2011-2014 where I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Communication. I was a diver for the swim and dive team. After graduating I moved back to Canada where I pursued my passion for hockey and landed my dream job for the Edmonton Oilers. I learned a lot in my almost five years with the team. However, while I was there full-time I found a love for hospitality at an amazing locally owned restaurant. I started as a server and worked my way to a bartender then manager. In my free time I loved spending time with my friends, volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and finding a love for a new sport. My friends introduced me to the sport of cheerleading at 25 years old. I didn't think I could pick up a new sport, not to mention competitively that late in life. Well, three years of cheer and three trips to worlds later I guess you can. I decided I needed to change things up in my life. I applied for my Masters at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Why Vegas? Well, I LOVE Vegas. I wanted to find a way to move to Las Vegas; they actually ended up having one of the best programs out there for hospitality.

So GRE tests, applications, fees and an acceptance letter later here I am! I am a Canadian on an F-1 visa in fabulous Las Vegas.
